Accessibility statement
SiteMerit audits the accessibility of other people’s websites, so this site should be usable by everyone too. This page says what we aim for, how we check it, what we know is still missing, and how to tell us about a barrier.
Our goal
We aim for sitemerit.com to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
That is a goal, not a claim. We do not state that every page of this site fully meets WCAG 2.2 AA: we have not verified it to that degree, and the limits below say why.
How we evaluated this site
We evaluate sitemerit.com with SiteMerit itself — the same checks we sell. The most recent evaluation recorded here ran on November 1, 2026, on our English home page (sitemerit.com/en), with the free audit. Its results:
- Accessible names of links, buttons and form fields: passed — 20 controls measured, none without a name.
- Declared page language: passed.
- Page regions (landmarks): passed — the main content is exposed as a landmark.
- ARIA attributes: passed.
- Image text alternatives: not applicable — the page has no images to check.
- Accessibility statement: not found. That finding is why this page exists.
Text color contrast is measured only in the full report, which opens the page in a real browser, so it was not part of this evaluation.
What that evaluation does not cover
An automated audit reads signals in a page’s code and detects signals of risk; it cannot confirm that a site meets WCAG. It does not replace:
- testing with people who use assistive technology, such as screen readers, keyboard-only navigation or screen magnification;
- a full manual review of every WCAG 2.2 success criterion;
- checking every page: each run reads one page.
Known limitations
- Text color contrast was measured by our full report on October 31, 2026, on our English home page, in one state at 1,280 pixels wide: one text item was below the minimum — the “Accept” button of the cookie notice (2.87:1). We darkened that button the same day. Our full report measured the same page again on November 1, 2026, in one state at 1,280 pixels wide: 110 text items measured, none below the minimum. Each of those measurements covers a single state of the page: not hover, focus, the dark color scheme or open menus.
- Only the home page was part of the evaluation above. Other pages, including this one and the paid report, were not.
- We have not tested this site with people who use assistive technology, and we have not done a full manual review against WCAG 2.2.
- Payment happens on Stripe’s checkout page, which Stripe hosts; its accessibility is outside our control.
When our own audit finds a problem on our site, we record it with dates on our self-audit page. See our self-audit record
